Universal Geometry – Lenticular Clouds artwork

Universal Geometry is a key release in the Lenticular Clouds trajectory. Released in early 2012 on the UK/US label AMDISCS, the album marked a period of strong visibility within the experimental electronic scene and was presented live at Sónar Barcelona 2012.

The record moves through chillwave, hypnagogic pop and IDM-inflected structures, combining electronic sequencing with guitar, keyboards and submerged vocals. The sound oscillates between broken rhythms and hazy atmospheres, often described as a velvet-textured form of IDM.

Conceptually, Universal Geometry explores impermanence, displacement and perception. Forms emerge and dissolve, evoking relaxed realities where straight lines become uncertain and sound behaves like a shifting landscape.

Like lenticular clouds in nature, the music appears present yet unreachable, floating between clarity and abstraction.

During this period, Lenticular Clouds also contributed the track “The Heartshifter” to the ∜♡MDISCS 2K13 compilation (2013), curated by Rado Z.

The piece was composed during a stay in Vidigal, Rio de Janeiro, and the compilation was released in collaboration with Hartzine and Tiny Mix Tapes, featuring over 70 premieres of emerging electronic music.

Fractal Time — video work

Fractal Time is an audiovisual piece associated with the Universal Geometry period, translating the album’s abstract structures into a visual language based on rhythm, repetition and transformation.

The video expands the album’s exploration of unstable forms and perceptual shifts, creating a dialogue between sound and image that mirrors the music’s internal logic.
