Personal Blurry Images
NFT collection · Tezos · 2021
Personal Blurry Images is an intimate and biographical NFT collection built from private photographs, videos and animated fragments belonging to Albert Zaragoza Gas. The works explore memory, identity and personal archives through digital distortion.
Images are deliberately altered using digital noise, colour displacement and blur processes, transforming recognisable moments into unstable visual fields. The distortion does not aim to erase the image, but to suspend it between recognition and loss.
Process
The collection applies noise-based image filters (RGB/YRB channel displacement), combined with organic distortion techniques and temporal modulation. Static images coexist with GIFs and short video loops processed using VUO, introducing motion as a further layer of instability.
These processes generate a digital blur that feels organic rather than optical, evoking memory degradation, emotional distance and the fragility of personal documentation.
Concept
Rather than presenting clear autobiographical narratives, Personal Blurry Images proposes a fragmented self-portrait. Private moments are intentionally obscured, resisting direct consumption while remaining emotionally present.
The collection questions how personal imagery survives in digital environments, where intimacy is constantly exposed, archived and recompressed.
