Origins of Origin – Lenticular Clouds artwork

Origins of Origin is a self-released album published in September 2012. Conceived as a personal exploration, the record marks a step towards a more defined and individual IDM language within the Lenticular Clouds project.

Free from external curatorial frameworks, the album allowed a deeper focus on structure, texture and internal logic, shaping a sound that would later inform subsequent releases.

Concept

The compositions reflect an interest in origin systems — natural, cognitive and symbolic — where growth, transformation and repetition operate as underlying forces. Titles reference concepts drawn from agriculture, biology, ritual and geometry, functioning as conceptual anchors rather than narratives.

Rhythm and form evolve organically, often privileging progression over immediacy, and situating the album within an IDM framework that emphasises process and continuity.
