Exoplanets
EP · Xenonyms · 2019
Exoplanets is an EP released by Lenticular Clouds on Barcelona-based label Xenonyms, inspired by speculative planetary landscapes, unusual geologies and extra-planetary imaginaries.
About the release
The guitar acts as a connective thread throughout the EP, blending organically into the electronic environment. At times it takes a leading role, as in “Schumman Resonance”, while in other moments it remains subtly embedded in the background.
The record moves between synthetic and organic elements, combining highly electronic passages with acoustic textures, addressing universal and mystical themes through sound.
Tracks
“Synaptic Receptor” unfolds as a disruptive progression built from multiple stages and strong structural changes. In contrast, “Pineal Perception” develops as a long, continuous succession of chords and choirs, evoking slow waves breaking on the shore of a distant planet.
The EP closes with “Full Moon”, a restrained and melancholic lullaby featuring guitar, maracas and wooden percussive elements recorded by the artist.
